Hey guys, it's that time of year again... when our email inbox gets flooded with holiday greetings from friends and family, and the most watched video on Youtube is a Punjabi rendition of Jingle Bells. Fusion is the new 'it girl' so let's infuse it in our drinks menu for the holiday parties.
Here's a way to quickly 'Indianize' your mulled wine.
Ingredients:
750 ml bottle red wine (use a half decent red table wine, Merlot is good)
1/4 cup raw cane sugar
Juice of 2 large oranges
1 tsp. Garam Masala
2-3 cloves, cinnamon sticks
1 bay leaf
1 vanilla pod, slit in half
½ cup port wine
In a pan, add raw cane sugar, the juice of one orange and a splash of red wine. Mix together to combine and stir on medium heat. Add all the spices,
Mix and allow spices to become fragrant. Pour in rest of red wine. Gently simmer on medium low heat for 15-20 minutes. Stir in port just before serving and garnish with orange slices.
Take our advice and pour that bad boy into the largest fruit bowl you can find and pass it around at the holiday party!
Let us know how that went.
Cheers!
